Sweet Summer Wine Cocktail Recipes
For adults 21+, please entertain and drink responsibly.
Party Sangria (serves 4-6)
2 chilled bottles Land O Lakes Winery Orange Sangria
1 –2 Oranges halved and sliced
1 Lemon halved and sliced
1 Lime halved and sliced
1/2 – 1 cup Brandy (may substitute flavored brandy like Apricot, or other spirit to taste)
1/2 teasp. Cinnamon (optional)
8 hours before serving: Slice half of orange and lemon and place in large (1/2 gallon pitcher) Muddle with wooden spoon. Add 1/2 cup of brandy or liquor. Add chilled bottles of wine and stir. Chill 8 hours or overnight. Just before serving add remaining 1/2 cup of liquor, cinnamon, and remaining slices of orange, lemon, and lime. Stir with wooden spoon by placing spoon at bottom of pitcher and rubbing handle between hands. Fill glasses 1/3 – 2/3 with ice. Spoon a slice of orange, lemon or lime from pitcher into glass. Pour Sangria on top. Garnish with orange slice.
Just Peachy (serves 4-6)
1 peach sliced and frozen*
1 fresh peach sliced for garnish
1 bottle chilled Land O Lakes Winery Peach Chardonnay
1/2 cup Peach Schnapps
Ice (approximately 1 cup)
*To make frozen peach slices line a baking sheet with wax paper. Place peach slices in single layer on top of wax paper. Freeze 4 hours or overnight until firm. Place all ingredients except fresh peach slices and ice in blender. (If needed due to size of blender make in half batches. Add ice till 3/4 full. Blend till smooth. Put in flutes, or martini glasses serve with straw and fresh peach slices for garnish. May also be used as a base for Peach Bellini’s. Half fill glasses and top with chilled sparkling wine or champagne.
Blackberry Spritzers (serves 8-10)
2 bottles chilled Land O Lakes Winery Blackberry Blast wine
1 bottle Land O Lakes Winery Strawberry Sensation wine
1 – 2 liters of chilled seltzer
Fresh Blackberries for garnish
Fill highball glasses 1/4 to 1/3 with ice. To each glass add 5 oz. blackberry wine, 3 oz. strawberry wine, 2-3 oz. selzer and fresh blackberries for garnish.
Sour Apple Punch (serves 10-12)
2 bottles chilled Green Apple Riesling
1 1/2 – 2 cups Sour Apple Schnapps, chilled
Green Apple Slices for garnish
In chilled punch bowl or clear acrylic chilled beverage server mix wine and schnapps. Float apple slices for garnish. Provide ice so guests can serve themselves.
